Malmö stad seeks a Unit Manager for the Finance Unit at the Labour Market and Social Administration, Sweden's largest of its kind with 2,900 employees. This role leads a team of 16 staff providing financial support, budgeting, and accounting services across the organization. The position reports to the Finance Manager and contributes to the department's leadership group, focusing on developing financial management and resource allocation within the municipality's social services transformation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate operational finance work including budget, follow-up and accounting processes
- Develop financial control, resource allocation and internal structures within the unit
- Build collaborations with operations, managers and support functions for proactive support
Requirements
- Academic degree in economics or equivalent
- Several years of qualified finance work at management level in municipal/politically governed organization
- Documented leadership experience with staff responsibility
- Experience leading change and development work
- Meritorious: Experience from social services or similar municipal operations
